How Wide-ranging is the Market for Tech Accessories?

A few weeks ago, I found myself sitting opposite an elderly couple in a café.

They were a friendly pair and struck up a conversation as soon as I sat down. It turned out that it was their granddaughter’s birthday, and they were about to Skype her to wish her a happy birthday.

At first, I thought nothing of it. But, as I sat there sipping my Macha latte and reading the morning ’s headlines on my tablet, I realized just how accessible and widely used technology has become. I couldn’t imagine my great-grandparents being able to switch on a tablet, let alone make a video call. Watching how easily the elderly couple were able to navigate their tech, it dawned on me that people from a wide range of backgrounds and age groups use computers, smartphones, and tablets and are comfortable doing so.

I realized the impact of smart devices on all generations, not only my own.

Our phones are no longer only for making calls. They’re smart devices that we all use in our day-to-day lives—from the Mom using the notes app to write a shopping list or the FindFriends feature to track her kids, the Dad checking out the baseball game or reading the news, to the businessperson working on the go and the teen streaming their favorite movie or perusing their social media feed. Phones are what we use to schedule our week, stay in touch with friends, take family photos and unwind after a hard day’s work.

Internet use has also soared. In 2011, 71.7 percent of Americans were online, versus a mere 18 percent in 1997.

Then, of course, there’s the massive uptake in use of tech devices other than laptops. Tablet computers, smartphones, eBook readers, and games have all seen a sales boom in the past decade.

All this to say that, in this day and age, computing and smart technology is everywhere. It’s more visible than ever and intrinsically tied to the way that we live.

Of course, when we own technology, we also need to take care of it. Enter cool tech accessories. Charge and sync cables, power banks, stands, screen cleaners, and organizers are all indispensable tools for keeping our tech gear (life-line to the world) in pristine shape, fully charged and organized. This daily-use tech gear is not only functional; it is on display and visible to our friends, our family, and strangers that you might run into at the coffee shop, store, work or school.

We’ve written previously (click here) about how products, like those we offer, are used as promotional items because they are necessary and become a part of our daily routines. Tech products in general offer high-visibility. But what we didn’t mention in that article was just how wide-ranging the market for branded tech gear is.

There used to be a time when we spoke about people being computer literate. These days, however, everyone is tech literate; the market is huge. The potential reach for a branded tech accessory is incredible.

Markets for these items include:

  • Medicine
  • Education
  • Construction
  • Cause-related Associations
  • Entertainment
  • Airlines
  • Agriculture
  • Automotive
  • Broadcasting
  • Car dealerships
  • Aerospace
  • Legal
  • Etc.

Today, branded tech gear is a vital promotional tool. It works daily to increase awareness for causes, products, and brands.

When choosing a promotional tech product, you need to select the right one. Buy from a reputable company, and make sure that both the quality of the product and the quality of the decoration that will display the brand’s message is top notch. It’s those details that make an exceptional promotional tech product—one that stands out from the crowd and communicates your message.

Tech is a part of day-to-day life, and so are tech accessories. That’s why tech gear is a vital promotional tool for any age group, industry, or interest.
